AC Milan evaluating potential Tevez approach

AC Milan assistant coach Mauro Tassotti has revealed that his club would be interested in signing Carlos Tevez if the AWOL Manchester City striker can prove he is mentally sound.

Argentina international Tevez has returned to his homeland without City's permission after being handed a misconduct charge and fined two-weeks' wages following his alleged refusal to warm-up against Bayern Munich in September.

Given the complete breakdown in the relationship between City and Tevez a number of European clubs are looking to broker a relatively cut-price deal for the 27-year-old, with AC Milan joining Inter and PSG in announcing their interest.

Milan assistant coach Mauro Tassotti said: "Tevez to Milan? He is a great player but we need to evaluate his condition and his head because as well as technical ability, you need to be mentally ready to play.

"There are problems with Manchester City but it could be an idea."

Tevez is expected to return to City later this week to face a disciplinary hearing, when it will be decided if he has a future at the Etihad Stadium.
