Police speak to Terry over Ferdinand incident
November 29, 2011
John Terry has been interviewed under caution about an alleged racist slur towards Anton Ferdinand, police sources said.
Terry, the Chelsea and England captain, has denied making the alleged comments to the QPR defender during a Premier League match at Loftus Road last month.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Friday. Police were notified of an incident on Sunday 23 October involving alleged racial abuse. This is currently being assessed by officers from Hammersmith and Fulham.''
Chelsea are currently preparing for Tuesday night's Carling Cup tie with Liverpool. Terry will not feature due to suspension, having picked up a booking against Wolves at the weekend.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas is likely to blood the likes of Josh McEachran, Romelu Lukaku and Ryan Bertrand for the Stamford Bridge encounter, with Raul Meireles cup-tied.
