Terry racism case handed to prosecutors

December 1, 2011

Police have passed a file on John Terry's alleged racial slur towards Anton Ferdinand to prosecutors.

The Chelsea and England star has denied making the alleged comments to the QPR defender during a Premier League match at Loftus Road on October 23.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed today that it had received a file about the case from Scotland Yard and was considering whether there was enough evidence to bring charges.

Terry has been interviewed by the police about the allegation. A Scotland yard spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Friday (November 25).

"Police were notified of an incident on Sunday 23 October involving alleged racial abuse. This is currently being assessed by officers from Hammersmith and Fulham.''
