Liverpool & Suarez granted extension by the FA

Liverpool have been given more time to respond to Football Association charges against both the club and striker Luis Suarez.

There had been an initial deadline of Monday 4pm for Liverpool to answer a charge that the club failed to control their players properly during last Monday's 1-0 defeat at Fulham.

Suarez also faces a misconduct charge after allegedly making an offensive gesture to the crowd after that game but it is reported the Reds have been granted an extension, the length of which is unknown, on both counts.

Kenny Dalglish stuck by his Uruguayan striker during the weekend's home clash with QPR, and Suarez repaid him with the winning goal in a 1-0 victory.

Liverpool's next game comes away to Aston Villa on Sunday. The Reds are currently three points outside the top four heading into the busy Christmas period.
