Dalglish maintains defence of Suarez

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has refused to comment on the ongoing FA disciplinary hearing into Luis Suarez's alleged racism, choosing only to reiterate that the club remain fully in support of their player.

An FA panel is currently listening to evidence after allegations from Manchester United defender Patrice Evra that he was racially abused "at least 10 times" by the Liverpool striker when the two sides met at Anfield in October. The English game's governing body has charged Suarez with abusing Evra by his "ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race".

Suarez, however, denies any racial intent behind any comments he may have made in Evra's direction - and Dalglish will wait until the FA reaches its decision before making any further comment on the complicated matter.

"We have said many times before we cannot say anything which will be prejudicial," Dalglish said. "We are standing right beside him and helping him as much as we possibly can.

"After it's finished there is a chance to have a conversation.

"As I said last week the FA should have given you [the media] the information when everything was happening, not us."

A verdict from the two-day hearing - which has heard testimony from both players - could come on Thursday, but is more likely to be announced on Friday.
