Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has stressed he wants a solution to the Carlos Tevez saga, but has advised the club against sending the forward out on loan.

Tevez's time at City is drawing to a close, as he has not featured since the controversial incident at Bayern Munich in the autumn when he failed to take to the field.

A clutch of clubs have expressed interest in the forward, with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani due to meet City officials on Thursday in a bid to thrash out a deal.

AC have suggested they would like a loan deal with an option to buy, but Mancini feels such a scenario is not ideal for all involved.

"I hope we can find a good solution for us and Carlos," Mancini said ahead of his side's clash with Stoke. "We want Carlos to come back and play football and the best solution for us is to sell him. We can't let him leave on loan."

Mancini feels interested parties need to pay market value for City's players rather than scoop them up on loan.

"When Manchester City buy a player, they have to pay a lot of money," he said. "But when we want to sell them, they have to go on loan. This is not good. It is not correct for the other players.

"Manchester City paid Carlos a lot of money for three years. It is correct that if one club, it could be Milan, Juventus, PSG, Inter, want him, they pay Carlos for his value. This is correct."
