Liverpool draw Benfica, Fulham to meet Wolfsburg

Liverpool will have the chance to restore some Merseyside pride when they meet Benfica in the quarter-finals of the Europa League after the Portuguese team thrashed rivals Everton 5-0 in the group stages.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is wary of the threat posed by Benfica after they were beaten 3-0 on aggregate in 2006 as the defending champions.
"We know they are a good team and, of course, we have played them before in the Champions League," said the Liverpool manager. "They are a massive club with a lot of support from their fans and it will be a tough game.
"They are top of the table and playing really well at the moment. I know a number of their players well - Aimar, Javier Saviola, Javi Garcia - so we know they have a lot of quality."
Fulham, who sealed an astonishing comeback to knock Juventus out of the competition have been rewarded with a tie against Wolfsburg.
Should three-time champions Liverpool make it past Benfica, they will be certain to meet a Spanish team, with Rafael Benitez's former side Valencia taking on Atletico Madrid in an all-Spanish quarter-final.
In the remaining quarter-final draw, Standard Liege will fly the flag for Belgium when they meet Hamburg.
Quarter-final draw:
Fulham v VfL Wolfsburg
Hamburger SV v Standard Liege
Valencia v Atletico Madrid
Benfica v Liverpool
Semi-final draw:
Hamburg or Standard Liege v Fulham or Wolfsburg
Valencia or Atletico Madrid v Benfica or Liverpool
