Scholes ponders United comeback

Paul Scholes could be set to come out of retirement to help boost Manchester United's Premier League title bid.
Scholes, who hung up his boots at the end of last season, was approached by some of his former team-mates to consider a comeback last month.
According to a report in Saturday's Sun the 37-year-old is now prepared to answer Sir Alex Ferguson's call to provide short-term cover for United's depleted midfield. The report claims Scholes is reluctant to approach Ferguson directly, but will be ready to step up if called upon.
Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder was touted as an ideal replacement for the former England international, but Ferguson failed to secure the services of the Dutch midfielder during last summer's transfer window.
Meanwhile, the long-term absences of Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher has seen Ferguson struggle for options in midfield, with striker Wayne Rooney employed in the position earlier in the season.
Scholes, who coaches the United reserves at Carrington, still trains daily and is fit enough to step straight into the team if necessary.
