Reds dismiss talk of Toon return for Carroll

A Liverpool spokesman has denied newspaper reports that the club are prepared to allow striker Andy Carroll to return to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
Carroll, 23, has struggled for form since joining Liverpool from the St James' Park club in January 2011 for £35 million, scoring just four goals in 25 Premier League appearances.
The England international's future at Anfield has been the subject of conjecture, and reports in the Daily Mail and The Sun on Wednesday suggested the Magpies are open to re-signing the forward.
Both newspapers claim Newcastle would be willing to offer £10 million for Carroll, which would mean a £25 million loss for the Reds - whose manager Kenny Dalglish has consistently stated the striker has a future on Merseyside.
However, a Liverpool spokesman is quoted as saying in the Express: "It is complete nonsense. There is nothing in it."
