Chris Samba has put Tottenham and QPR on red alert by revealing he wants to leave Blackburn in the January transfer window.

Samba has been the standout player for Rovers over a number of years, but he has grown increasingly despondent at Ewood Park. Blackburn are currently bottom of the Premier League, a plight not helped by endless protests aimed at manager Steve Kean and the club's owners.

Both Tottenham and QPR have been credited with an interest in the towering defender, who has so far remained loyal as club captain. However, it now seems Samba is ready to leave a seemingly sinking ship.

"Recently, mentally, it has been difficult," Samba told L'Equipe. "I have tried to keep my level of performance, but I feel it is time for me to change.

"The club does not change at all. I am resigned.

"[I have] always put the interests of the club before [myself]. I invested a lot, I always tried to lead by example, but things have not gone as I had said. I hope people understand me."

Samba could be snatched away from his English pursuers by Paris Saint Germain, who now operate under Carlo Ancelotti, but the Congo man would not speculate over his new club.

"For now, there is nothing concrete," Samba added. "In any case, it's flattering. The club has taken a different scale, it is not the PSG of a few years ago.

"There Leonardo, Ancelotti... I'm sure they will bring great players. We'll see if the interest is confirmed or not, but it would be nice for me to go home. The most important thing is to find an ambitious club. I would like something else."
