Yaya Toure admits he has found it difficult to watch Manchester City from afar this month, but believes the club will still win the title because they have the league's best player - David Silva.

Toure has been unavailable for Roberto Mancini's side for almost a month, as he helps the Ivory Coast's African Nations Cup campaign.

In his absence City have seen their five-point lead atop the Premier League slip away - with the 1-0 defeat to Everton on Tuesday their most recent disappointment - but Toure remains confident they will triumph by the season's end.

That is because City can call upon David Silva - a player he believes gives his side something none of their rivals can match.

"David Silva is the best player in the Premier League. Without doubt, he separates us from [Manchester] United and Chelsea," Toure said. "It's a pleasure to play with him because he's so impressive. [Sergio] Aguero is also a great player and it feels we are connected.

"I left Barcelona to improve as a player and I believe that I have fulfilled my challenge and I am very happy."

Some pundits have suggested that Toure's own importance to the club has been underlined by City's poor form in his absence - which has also seen the club go out of both the FA Cup and Carling Cup - but he played down such talk.

"I've suffered watching the games on the TV and it's my natural instinct to help my team-mates," Toure said. "The defeats have been painful because I wanted to win three titles but I don't think it's because of my absence. I'm not indispensable."
