Arshavin stars for Arsenal reserves
Andrei Arshavin showed Arsene Wenger that he wants a place in Sunday's big derby game with Tottenham after firing two goals for the Arsenal reserve side at Norwich.
The Russian international had been demoted to the second team after a string of disappointing performances, along with fellow first-team squad members Yossi Benayoun and Marouane Chamakh.
The star-studded Arsenal line-up easily beat Norwich 5-0, with goals from Park Chu-Young, Benayoun and Benik Afobe adding to Arshavin's double.
Arshavin has been linked to Anzhi Makhachkala after the big-spending club from Dagestan appointed former Russia boss Guus Hiddink as their manager.
The Russian League's transfer window closes on February so in theory Arshavin could yet move to join Hiddink at Anzhi.
