Tottenham winger Andros Townsend has joined Championship side Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season.

Townsend terminated his loan spell at Leeds on Thursday, with the 20-year-old's agent reportedly telling Leeds manager Neil Warnock he wasn't happy at Elland Road.

"I'm disappointed because we've lost a player, but if he doesn't want to be here good riddance I say if that's what he wants to do," Warnock said.

Townsend confirmed he would be leaving Leeds on his Twitter account, writing: "I had a very tough decision to make and I made a decision that I think will be best for my career but only time will tell. But I want to thank the club and fans for the support they gave me during my time at Leeds and wish them all the best in the future!"

The former England Under-19 international Townsend has previously spent time on loan at Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Ipswich Town, Millwall, as he seeks to gain the experience necessary to break into Harry Redknapp's Tottenham team.

Townsend is yet to feature in the Premier League for Spurs, but has played in the Europa League, the FA Cup and the Carling Cup.
