Rooney fit for United's Spurs clash

Wayne Rooney has been passed fit for Manchester United's clash with Tottenham at the weekend.
The striker sat out last weekend's thrilling 2-1 win over Norwich after being struck down by illness and was absent for England's defeat to Netherlands.
Rooney's condition improved as the week progressed and after coming through training and a fitness test, he has been given the green light for a game Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has described as huge in terms of their bid for the title.
Ferguson said: "Rooney is fit and trained all week [but] Cleverley and Valencia are still out."
Chris Smalling suffered a nasty head injury during England's loss to the Dutch and although he did not suffer concussion, he remains a doubt for the clash with Tottenham.
"There's no concussion but he's got quite a nasty cut," Ferguson said. "Whether we can patch it up, I'm not quite sure. We need to tread carefully and see what he's like tomorrow."
