Mancini clashes with Balotelli

The strain of the Premier League title race appeared to get to Roberto Mancini after the Manchester City manager had a verbal spat with Mario Balotelli during training.

Mancini lost his patience with the controversial striker during a tactical session on Wednesday, screaming at the top of his voice in Italian - with the images appearing in various newspapers.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Balotelli was then reprimanded by first-team coach Attilio Lombardo, before the Italy international joined a fitness training session with other members of his team.

While Balotelli may have fallen out of Mancini's favour, Carlos Tevez staked his claim for his first City start since September as he scored for the reserves on Wednesday night.

The Argentine, who has come off the bench in City's last two Premier League games, scored one and provided another in a 6-1 win over Morecambe.
