Edin Dzeko has urged Manchester City to sign Tottenham star Luka Modric in the summer as he believes the club can offer everything the Croatian craves.

Modric, 26, stated his desire to leave White Hart Lane last year, claiming that he wanted to fight for trophies and revealed his anger as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for going back on a 'gentleman's agreement' to let him go to Chelsea, who made a reported three bids for him.

The Croatian playmaker will surely be the subject of interest again and Dzeko would be happy if Modric was brought in to strengthen the midfield at the Etihad Stadium.

"Everyone is after him, but I would love it if he came to City," Dzeko told The Sun. "He would be a great addition.

"Besides that, he would have everything at City - Champions league, fighting for the title, great wages. I am cheering for him to choose City."

Of his own future, though, Dzeko was less keen to talk and said: "There are still games left in the league and it is too early to discuss such matters."
