Joe Hart has played down the significance of the news that Jack Wilshere will play no part in England's Euro 2012 campaign in Poland and Ukraine.

Arsenal midfielder Wilshere has missed the whole of this season due to an ankle problem that required surgery, and on Monday it was revealed he would not be able to represent his country over the summer.

Wilshere broke into the England midfield during Euro 2012 qualifying under the stewardship of Fabio Capello, and his technical gifts ensured he did not look out of place at international level.

However, England closed out qualification in his absence, and Manchester City goalkeeper Hart feels the Three Lions are well equipped to cope without Wilshere.

Asked by Sky Sports if it was a blow to lose Wilshere for Euro 2012, Hart said: "Not really. Jack's not played all season so I'm sure he wouldn't have been able to give a good account of himself."
