Terry will be allowed to lift trophy

Chelsea captain John Terry will be allowed to lift the Champions League trophy and collect his medal along with his team-mates should the club win the May 19 final in Munich, UEFA has confirmed.
Terry, shown a straight red card for kneeing Alexis Sanchez in the back in Chelsea's Champions League semi-final second leg at Barcelona on Tuesday, had feared he would be unable to join in any post-match celebrations should his team-mates overcome Bayern Munich in the final.
A statement read: "If Chelsea win the 2012 UEFA Champions League final, John Terry will be allowed to lift the trophy and collect the medal."
Terry apologised to fans following the game, saying: "It does look bad on the replay. I raised my knee but hopefully the people out there who know me, know I'm not that kind of player.
"At the time I was bewildered, but looking at the replay it looks a red card. On a personal note, of course (it hurts I miss the final), but we deserve to be in the Champions League final.
"I really hope that doesn't take away from this win."
A control and disciplinary panel from UEFA will decide the length of Terry's suspension on May 31, and could extend the punishment which would then apply to next season's European Super Cup and potentially even some early Champions League or Europa League games.
For next month's final Terry will be joined in the stands by Ramires, Raul Meireles and Branislav Ivanovic who were all booked during Tuesday's game.
The international players' union FIFPro have asked UEFA to allow those three players, along with Holger Badstuber, David Alaba and Luiz Gustavo from Bayern, to be allowed to play, citing UEFA's adoption of FIFA's policy for Euro 2012 where existing yellow cards are waived after the quarter-finals.
