Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has dismissed suggestions that victory for his side in Monday's massive derby will prove decisive in the title race.

City and Manchester United face off at the Etihad Stadium with only three points separating them, and with City knowing that if they win, they will go top of the league with two games remaining of the season.

However, even if City do assume top spot by sinking Sir Alex Ferguson's men, Mancini is wary of getting carried away because of the respective run-ins the two sides face before the end of the season.

"I am not surprised because in football, until you finish the championship or every game, anything can happen," Mancini said. "But my opinion is always the same - I think they have more chance than us.

"We play the derby Monday and then afterwards Newcastle, that will be a very tough game, then after that QPR. Instead, United will play against Swansea and Sunderland and I think for them they will be two easy games.

"I think [even] if we win this game, they are favourites."
