Harry wants Spurs to spend big this summer

Harry Redknapp is looking for Tottenham to be bold in the transfer market this summer.

A season that has promised much may end in disappointment, as Spurs are yet to secure the Champions League football that seemed theirs for the taking at the turn of the year.

Redknapp largely kept his powder dry last summer, with the focus being on retaining Luka Modric. He may face a similar scenario this year, with Modric and Gareth Bale two of Europe's most talked about players.

But as well as battling to keep his present crop, he is looking to add more quality to his ranks.

"We're a good side," Redknapp told Five Live. "If we're bold in the summer, we can build a team again that can be right there again next year.

"The league is changing and a top-four position is very difficult to achieve."
