Luka Modric has stopped short of declaring that his future lies with Tottenham Hotspur, saying instead that he will ponder the next step in his career after Euro 2012.

Modric, 26, was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer that failed to materialise, even though the saga dragged on for a couple of months.

After reportedly expressing concerns about his focus early this season, Modric appeared to settle at Spurs and enjoyed another creditable campaign, making 36 starts in the Premier League.

However, in April boss Harry Redknapp said: "Luka, it's different with him [compared to Gareth Bale]. I don't know what he would do. I would be lying if I said I was sure that he would stay."

The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to have a keen eye on how the situation plays out, although the Croatia international is apparently in no rush to commit to anything.

"I will decide about my future after the Euros," Modric told the Mirror. "I will make the decision where to continue my career. I'm ready for the big tests."

Modric will have a shot at Champions League football with Spurs in 2012/13 providing Chelsea do not win the final of that competition against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
