Fiorentina aim to keep Chelsea target Jovetic

Fiorentina are hopeful of holding on to Montenegro star Stevan Jovetic this summer, as speculation mounts that he could be set to leave the club for Champions League finalists Chelsea.

Jovetic, 22, has starred for La Viola this season, scoring 14 goals in 27 Serie A games in what has been an otherwise disappointing campaign for the club as they finished 14th.

The Montenegro striker is reportedly keen to seek a new challenge elsewhere, with Chelsea among the clubs linked with a swoop for him having failed to complete a move in January.

However, despite being unable to dangle the carrot of European football in front of Jovetic, Fiorentina official Sandro Mencucci is hopeful that the club's prized asset will stay in Florence.

"We want to build our future around Jovetic,'' Mencucci told Gazzetta dello Sport. "He has a contract until June 2016.

"Being a great player, it's normal that several clubs are monitoring him.''
