Harry Redknapp has urged Bayern Munich to beat Chelsea next week after Tottenham put themselves in position to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Spurs wrapped up fourth place in the Premier League - and a provisional berth in the qualification rounds for next season's premier European club competition - with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday, as Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe got the goals.

However, Spurs will be bumped down to the Europa League if Chelsea win next Saturday's final against Bayern Munich in Germany - leading the Englishman to throw his full support behind the German club.

"It has been a fantastic season to finish fourth and in a Champions League place. It's been a magnificent season," Redknapp told the BBC. "I'd be a liar if I stood here and said otherwise [that I didn't want Bayern Munich to beat Chelsea].

"I want Tottenham to finish in the Champions League and it's now up to Bayern Munich to finish the job. What will be, will be."

Redknapp also congratulated Manchester City on claiming the title in dramatic fashion.

"That's what makes our league so great," he said. "I thought Manchester United had won the title [but what happened was] just amazing. They've won it so good luck to them.

"I'm sure Alex will look back and think the Everton game [where they drew 4-4] cost them. That's football, you do not have a divine right to beat anyone."
