Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini believes moving to White Hart Lane would benefit Andre Villas-Boas's career.

Villas-Boas, 34, joined Chelsea after a year at Porto which saw him win three trophies, but the Portuguese was sacked just eight months into his first season in the Premier League. Cudicini feels Villas-Boas could be the perfect fit for Spurs following the sacking of Harry Redknapp.

"I think it would be good for him," Cudicini told Sky Sports Italia. "I also think it would be a good opportunity for him to grow as a coach. Tottenham are a great team and he could learn a lot here."

Despite stating his preference for Villas-Boas, Cudicini also says potential candidates for the role such as ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez or former England manager Fabio Capello could succeed at Tottenham if given the opportunity.

"Benitez did very well in England as coach of Liverpool and he knows English football very well," Cudicini told Radio Kiss Kiss. "However, it's obvious that many names have been brought up because Tottenham are one of the most important Premier League clubs.

"Capello to Tottenham would make me very happy. I played under him at AC Milan when I was young and he won so much with the senior team. He would bring experience and knowledge into the side."
