Harry Redknapp would be interested in discussing the vacant Russia job, according to his agent.

Redknapp was named on the shortlist for the head coach role, which was announced by the Russia Football Union (RFU) on Tuesday. The former Spurs manager's name was one of 13 listed by the RFU.

Recently linked to the England job, eventually taken by Roy Hodgson, Redknapp has never hidden his desire to coach at international level. Success with Russia would undoubtedly help his future chances of landing the England post.

Currently out of work following his departure from Tottenham, no obvious domestic roles are offering themselves to the 65-year-old. And agent Phil Smith claims an approach from the RFU would not fall on deaf ears.

Smith is quoted as saying by the Russian media: "Would Harry have a problem coming to Russia? No. He's ready to go and live in any country, especially as big as Russia.

"I think such an offer would definitely interest him if it came, but so far, we haven't heard anything about it."

The full list of candidates for the Russia job includes: Rafael Benitez, Anatoliy Byshovets, Marcelo Bielsa, Valery Gazzaev, Josep Guardiola, Fabio Capello, Andrei Kobelev, Yuri Krasnozhan, Marcello Lippi, Valery Nepomnyashchy, Nikolai Pisarev, Redknapp and Yuri Semin."

Capello's son has also confirmed the Italian's interest in the vacant role.
