Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed his interest in Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Moutinho's efforts at Euro 2012 saw him linked with a move to Manchester United, but in the past few days Tottenham have been credited with an interest.

The classy Portugal international worked under Villas-Boas at Porto and upon the manager's appointment at Spurs, backed him to be a success at White Hart Lane. It would appear the appreciation is mutual, as Villas-Boas has heaped praise on Moutinho and confirmed he is on his list of targets.

Villas-Boas said: "He was one of the most important players at Euro 2012, he had a fantastic tournament, and also he's an important player for Porto. Counting on players of this quality will always be interesting for us.

"It doesn't mean that it's the only target, but if something happened of course he's a player we look on with some interest."
