Mathieu Debuchy has his sights trained on a move to Newcastle after confirming his desire to leave Lille.

The defender caught the eye for Lille in Ligue 1 and backed up that positive impression with some impressive displays for France at Euro 2012. His rampaging runs from full back caught the attention of Magpies boss Alan Pardew who has made him one of the club's top transfer targets.

Inter Milan also hold an interest, but Newcastle are in pole and have been invited to push through a deal by the player.

Asked about the prospect of joining Newcastle, he told L'Equipe: "That is my priority, although Inter also enquired about me.

"I want to leave Lille, I am 100% committed to that. I want a new challenge in another league."

Debuchy is frustrated by Lille's stance that they will not sell until a replacement is found.

"The coach (Rudi Garcia) wants to keep me and I will not change his mind, but I will do everything I can to move elsewhere," Debuchy said. "Players have been suggested to them and still nothing happens. It disappoints me and it bothers me."
