Dimitar Berbatov's agent has claimed the Manchester United striker would be open to a move to AC Milan.

Berbatov, 31, looks set to leave United this summer, having made just five Premier League starts last season, with interest in his signature thought to be high.

A loan deal had been mooted but it is reported that the Red Devils are seeking a fee of around £5 million for the Bulgarian's permanent signature.

AC Milan, who are set to complete the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG, and Serie A champions Juventus are the latest sides to be linked with Berbatov, and the striker's agent has indicated he would be keen to ply his trade in Italy.

His agent, Emil Dantchev, told calciomercato.com: "He may leave Manchester United at any time. His most likely destination is Italy, he's always loved Italian football.

"I know that Milan and Juventus are looking for a striker. I can say that they are two big clubs. I cannot say much but I do say that Berbatov likes Milan and looks good in red and black.

"Dimitar would run to AC Milan, because the club have appreciated him for years. They will have to speak with Manchester United and start negotiations."
