A late Lucas Piazon strike earned Chelsea a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in their pre-season friendly at Yankee Stadium in New York on Sunday night.

PSG, playing without new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, fielded a strong attacking line-up in the contest. And indeed the French club had the better of the first half opportunities before going ahead in the 29th minute.

Nene opened the scoring for PSG after playmaker Javier Pastore had wriggled between Gary Cahill and Gael Kakuta and struck his shot against a post. PSG held their advantage into the second half.

England defenders John Terry and Ashley Cole saw their first pre-season action for the Blues after being introduced for the final half-hour.

The equaliser then arrived for Chelsea eight minutes from full-time, when 18-year-old Piazon combined with fellow Brazilian Ramires before coolly slotting into the bottom corner.

Chelsea, who opened their USA tour with a 4-2 win over the Seattle Sounders last Wednesday, now head to Philadelphia to prepare for a game against the MLS All-Stars this Wednesday.
