Adebayor told he has 'no chance' of City future
Emmanuel Adebayor has been told he will not play for Manchester City this season.
Roberto Mancini has taken a hard-line stance with the striker as he attempts to get him to reduce his wage demands and complete a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
The two clubs agreed a £5.5 million fee for the Togolese, who spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane, but Adebayor, who has earned £170,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium, has been reluctant to accept a lower salary.
Adebayor has been omitted from the squad for City's pre-season friendlies - whereas Roque Santa Cruz, who is also for sale, has been allowed to get match fit - as Mancini has tried to force Adebayor to leave.
"I am sorry for Adebayor because he has no chance at City," the manager said. "He has absolutely no chance of playing this season here so, for us, it's important he can find a good solution."
Adebayor cost City £26 million when he joined from Arsenal in 2009.
