Olympiakos striker Kevin Mirallas is set to turn down a move to Arsenal after admitting he would rather join Everton.

The Toffees are closing in on a £5.3 million deal to snatch the Belgium international from the grasp of Arsenal, who are set to lose captain Robin van Persie after the club agreed to sell him to Manchester United.

However, Wenger has already boosted his strikeforce with the purchase of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud this summer, and while Mirallas admitted moving to Arsenal was still a possibility, he said the prospect of regular football at Goodison Park provided the bigger lure.

"It is possible to go to Everton, it is possible to go to Arsenal, I don't know," he told Sky Sports News. "Two big clubs from the Premier League but for me it is more important to play every week so it is better for me with Everton.

"It is a good team, for me it is a good opportunity because Marouane Fellaini plays at Everton and he is my friend."
