No Spurs delegation for Damiao

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi has denied that Tottenham representatives are in Brazil to discuss a deal for Leandro Damiao.

The striker has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League side, but his current club have already denied reports Spurs made a bid for the player despite contrasting stories.

Now Luigi has moved to quash rumours that an envoy from the White Hart Lane side was in Porto Alegre to finalise a deal, and stated that only an "extraordinary offer" would tempt the club to consider selling the 23-year-old.

"There isn't any Tottenham representative here, and nothing is scheduled," Luigi told Globo Esporte.

"The ones that have been coming here are agents. Leandro Damiao was top scorer in the Olympics. I have nothing scheduled with Tottenham.

"Internacional want to keep Leandro Damiao. He'll leave only if there is an extraordinary offer."

Previous comments attributed to Luigi indicated that Spurs would have to pay up to €60million (£47m) to prise the player away from Internacional.
