On a day that saw Robin van Persie open his Manchester United account, we round up the high and low points from the Premier League action...

Cesc to Swansea?
Cesc Fabregas, a master of passing teams to death with first Arsenal and now Barcelona, threw a cheeky wink the way of Swansea boss Michael Laudrup after their 3-0 win over West Ham by tweeting: "I love the way Swansea plays... Respect." Somehow we don't think Barcelona fans should be losing any sleep, no matter how much he wants to play alongside Leon Britton.

Not so happy Hammers
If you're playing a side who have a passing game to rival Barcelona and are expected to dominate possession, surely the top priority for an opposition manager is to shore up your defence? Having seen Swansea net five in their opener against QPR last weekend, West Ham boss Sam Allardyce saw his side go two down inside half an hour after two goals that would not have looked out of place on a Sunday league pitch. First keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's attempts to collect Angel Rangel's low cross ended in him diverting the ball into his own net before a woeful backpass from James Collins saw Michu double the Swans' lead. Schoolboy.

Sun-derland
It's pretty rare that Premier League games get called off these days, what with under-soil heating and the like. But a game getting scrapped in August?! Surely not, surely not. Well, believe it people, because it happened at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, as Sunderland v Reading fell by the wayside. If this is summer, then we're booking a winter-long holiday...

Bolt Trafford
Usain Bolt, who despite being ridiculously good at sprinting seemingly wants to try every other sport, was at Old Trafford on Saturday, a couple of weeks after asking for a trial with Manchester United. He needs to cut out all that showboating if he wants to keep Sir Alex Ferguson sweet.

Hail to the King
Tottenham Hotspur paraded Ledley King, who retired over the summer, on the pitch during half-time of their match with West Brom, prompting a mighty roar from the White Hart Lane crowd. In true 'An Evening with Des O'Connor' fashion, King took a microphone and started going through his memories - which, thankfully, did not focus on the 600 days he spent in the treatment room.
