Nicklas Bendtner has completed his deadline day switch from Arsenal to Juventus. The loan includes the option of a permanent deal.

His signing brings an end to Juve's long search for a new striker this summer, with attempts to sign the likes of Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez and Fernando Llorente all failing to come to fruition.

Bendtner, 24, had spent last season on loan with Sunderland after failing to establish himself in the first team at Emirates Stadium. The Denmark striker has been with Arsenal since 2005 but both parties had acknowledged earlier this summer that a move would be his best option.

He wrote on his Twitter account: "I can now finally say I am a Juventus player. Very proud and cant wait to wear the stripes! I hope we will have great times together.

"I want to fulfill my potential here and show the fans my absolute best as that is yet to come. I am sure I will. Thanks for all the support from the Arsenal fans and the Sunderland fans, means the world. We always believe and that gets us far!"
