Bentley leaves Spurs to join FC Rostov on loan

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley has joined FC Rostov on Russian transfer deadline day.
Bentley, who earned seven caps for England, has slipped well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and will join Rostock on loan until January.
The former Arsenal trainee earned a £15 million move to Tottenham in 2008 after impressing at Blackburn Rovers but has not played for Spurs since November 2010.
The 27-year-old ended the 2011 season on loan at Birmingham and had looked to re-establish himself in the Championship with West Ham but a knee injury ruined his time at Upton Park.
Bentley will team up with former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle at Rostov, who joined the Russian Premier League club on a free transfer earlier this week.
