Torres' doctor eases injury fears

Liverpool may be able to call on Fernando Torres for the final weeks of the season, as the Spanish striker's doctor has stated the forward should be fit inside five days.
Torres has been troubled by a knee problem this term and missed Sunday's goalless draw with Fulham. It was suggested that the problem may curtail Torres' season, but Spanish knee specialist Ramon Cugat claims there is no major cause for concern.
"The problem is not serious but he needs to stop and rest to avoid more risk because it's the same knee on which he had surgery in January," Cugat was quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo.
"But in normal circumstances, he could be ready to play next week, depending on how it settles down. The decision is now up to Liverpool's medical staff and the manager."
Liverpool's bid for fourth place has faltered of late and they have four Premier League games, against West Ham, Burnley, Chelsea and Hull, to remedy the situation.
The focus may now be on the Europa League and a clash with Torres' former club Atletico Madrid next Thursday, while Torres also has the World Cup finals with Spain looming on the horizon.
