Police question Sterling over alleged attack
Police have questioned Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling over an alleged attack on a woman in the Toxteth area of the city.
The Liverpool Echo reported that Sterling, 17, was questioned by detectives under caution after attending a police station by appointment. He has not been arrested. Liverpool have declined to comment on the report.
Merseyside police said investigations were continuing, and a force statement said: "Merseyside police can confirm that a 17-year-old male from the Woolton area was interviewed under caution following a report of an assault on Friday 2 November.
"A 27-year-old woman received slight injuries during the incident. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no formal action has been taken."
Sterling, who made his England debut in last week's friendly away to Sweden - becoming Liverpool's youngest-ever international - joined the Reds from QPR in February 2010.
