Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from the Bundesliga in January, has said he only wants to concentrate on playing for Schalke.

Huntelaar, 29, is under contract until the end of the season but is reported to be a target for Premier League clubs including Liverpool.

The Netherlands international, who scored ten goals in his first 12 league games last season, has hit only three this time around and has scored only once in the Champions League amid talk that the reports are affecting his form.

"I only concentrate on my games for Schalke," Huntelaar told Der Westen when asked whether there was any truth in reports of a move to England.

However, he was more forthcoming when talking about his club's 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, saying: "It was our worst game of the season so far.

"It was OK at the beginning - we tried to attack. During the second half, we did absolutely nothing. We made too many mistakes. That was not nice.

"We gave Leverkusen too much room, and they are a dangerous team on the counter-attack."

Huntelaar also looked forward to Schalke's Champions League clash with Olympiakos on Wednesday, saying: "The game against Leverkusen is lost. This game is important."

Schalke top Champions League group B after four games but Olympiakos, in third, are only two points behind.
