Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti insists the Serie A giants have no interest in signing Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli during the January transfer window.

Balotelli moved from Inter in 2010 in a deal worth €22 million. The Italy international has since been linked with a return to the San Siro, however Moratti believes a wage reduction for Balotelli would rule out any possibility of a move.

"I really don't think that Balotelli will be coming back to Inter," Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have not won in their past three matches, cutting their title hopes as they sit fourth on the Serie A table.

"As far as I'm concerned the team will stay more or less the way it is now,'' Moratti said. "It's a good challenge for the players that we have, who all want to do well and build on what we've achieved early in the season.

"Inter are a good team, but every now and then we don't do so well.''
