Michu and me staying put, says Laudrup

Swansea City striker Michu is staying put in south Wales according to manager Michael Laudrup, who also stressed his own commitment to the club.

Michu has scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season as the Swans have worked their way up to seventh in the table.

But ideas that his impressive performances could lead to an exit from the Liberty Stadium hold no water with Laudrup.

The former Denmark international has hinted that he sees Michu as potentially twice as valuable as Joe Allen, who was sold to Liverpool for £14 million in the summer, adding that he does not believe many clubs could afford a sum in that region.

Swansea have a recent history of seeing talented managers such as Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers leave for more established clubs but Laudrup also moved to calm fears that he would follow suit any time soon.

"I am happy here and I think Michu is too," Laudrup told the Sun. "Why should we want to leave? We are not going anywhere.

"There has been a lot said because everyone talks about Michu. A lot of clubs would like to sign him.

"We know what they paid for Joe, who is a very talented player. Imagine what the cost would be for a top scorer in the Premier. If they had to pay double there are few clubs who could afford that."
