Spurs, Liverpool to lose out on Sneijder
Wesley Sneijder has opened negotiations with Galatasaray about a move to the Turkish Super Lig, seemingly dashing the hopes of the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United who had been linked with the midfielder.
The Netherlands international has been made an outcast at Inter Milan by manager Andrea Stramaccioni - he has not featured since September and was released on winter break early, with the Nerazzurri still having two games to play.
Sneijder's wife, actress and television personality, Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau, was recently quoted as saying her husband was set to move away from the Italian city this month - although she later claimed to have been misquoted.
The former Real Madrid and Ajax star has been heavily linked to the Premier League with Tottenham and Liverpool reportedly interested.
But Galatasaray appear to have made headway in their pursuit of the playmaker after posting official notice of developments regarding a transfer on their club website.
"Galatasaray announces it has begun negotiations with the FC Internazionale for the transfer of Wesley Sneijder," the statement said. "The public will be informed of developments."
