Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has dismissed reports he is unhappy at Anfield due to a strained relationship with manager Brendan Rodgers.

Reina has been linked with a move away from Liverpool for some time, but the Spaniard insists he will be part of a "great" future for the club under Rodgers' tenure.

"My relationship with the manager is very good," Reina is quoted as saying in several English newspapers. "We have got a lot in common - tactics and the way we see football is similar.

"I am very happy with our manager. He's making sure we are learning every day the way to win and that's important."

After making a £6 million move from Villarreal six years ago, Reina admits he and the rest of the Reds line-up have needed to change their style under Rodgers, but believes the team is headed in the right direction.

"There's no doubt I am more involved with my feet than before - but so is the team. The amount of passes in every game is higher compared to last season.

"It's a different style and philosophy. I am happy about it. Given time and as long as the players follow him it will be good. It will become a great side - one which is difficult to beat," he explained.
