Cech: Chelsea need quick appointment

Petr Cech has called for Chelsea to waste no time in appointing a new manager, insisting Rafael Benitez's replacement must be fully prepared for next season.
Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is expected to return to Stamford Bridge after reaching a mutual agreement to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Interim manager Benitez took charge of his final match for Chelsea in Sunday's 2-1 win over Everton and Cech believes Mourinho, or whoever succeeds the Spaniard, can make a better mark on the club if he takes the reigns immediately.
"You need to give the new manager the time to prepare things," Cech said. "The earlier he can be here, he can start work on things and not leave it for the last moment. As soon as you can make transfers, the market will move all over the place and everybody will try to get ready for the new season.
"Let's see how fast we get the manager in officially and then you can obviously start working on transfers. Every summer is really important. If you have a bad summer it can have bad consequences for the season. Each summer you have some changes in the squad. We will have a new manager and we have to prepare.
"If you don't get people to rest and to have a very good pre-season, you can start the season chasing. This is not an ideal situation. This season we played 69 games, so we really need to be ready to start the season and have all the possibilities to last as long as we can."
Chelsea have already been linked with moves for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao, with Cech expecting more interest from players after last week's Europa League win over Benfica.
"You could see last season everybody wanted Eden Hazard," Cech said. "And because we won the Champions League he chose us ahead of everybody else. This year we won back-to-back European trophies and we did well in all sorts of competitions.
"I feel that win against Benfica in Amsterdam was again very important. I believe for a lot of players that would be a moment to say, 'If I can choose between teams, I will go to Chelsea - because they always win something.' Next season we will play in the Super Cup and we have all the possibilities to win the Premier League or other cups."
