Chelsea winger Malouda ready to move on

Chelsea outcast Florent Malouda is ready to return to football next season but is staying tight-lipped over his future destination.

Malouda, 32, was banished to train with Chelsea's reserve team for the entire 2012-13 campaign after falling out with the club's hierarchy last summer.

The France international has not made a single first-team appearance this season, but is determined to get back onto the pitch competitively when his Chelsea contract expires in June.

"I had a problem to sort out with certain people. It's done. Now, I'm free. I'm going to be able to play again next season," Malouda said at a five-a-side youth football tournament in Paris. "I've been preparing all season long.

"I've let people speak. I'm patient and very determined. I'll be back next season. I already know where, but I'm not saying anything for the moment."

When asked by Canal+ on Sunday whether he could make a switch back across the Channel to Ligue 1, Malouda replied: "Anything is possible."

Malouda is not the only player to depart Stamford Bridge this summer with Yossi Benayoun, Paulo Ferreira, Ross Turnbull and Henrique Hilario all out of contract at the club. Ferreira, who signed for Chelsea in 2004, has retired from football.
