Diaby positive about injury recovery

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby can see light at the end of the tunnel as he continues his comeback from a serious knee ligament injury.

Diaby, 27, is likely to be out of action until Christmas after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in training in late March, the latest setback in a career blighted by injury.

However, the France international midfielder, who is currently undergoing physiotherapy at the national team training centre at Clairefontaine, is confident he is on the road to recovery.

"I've got rid of my crutches. Now I have to walk," the former Auxerre player, who will stay at Clairefontaine until mid-July, told L'Equipe. "I'll start running again in a few weeks.

"I want to take my time to ensure everything is good."

Diaby, who is working back to fitness alongside Lille's Ryan Mendes and Ajaccio's Ricardo Faty, made 11 Premier League appearances last season for the Gunners, and missed virtually the entire 2011/12 campaign with injury problems.
