Benfica's Oscar Cardozo is interesting Premier League clubs, his agent has said, amid rumours that the striker has had a falling-out with coach Jorge Jesus.

Cardozo, 30, caught the eye with 26 goals for the Portuguese runners-up last season, and speculation has suggested that Manchester City could sign him for around €20 million.

"Benfica knows the situation and now the subject is in their hands," agent Pedro Aldave told Sky Sports. "There has always been interest from Premier League - but now this is real interest."

New City manager Manuel Pellegrini is also thought to be considering moves for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez - who wants to leave the Allianz Arena - and Sevilla star Alvaro Negredo.

Pellegrini has seen Carlos Tevez move to Juventus, while Roque Santa Cruz has become a free agent after his contract expired.
