Ben Davies insists his Swansea and Wales team-mate Ashley Williams is worth at least £10million, as Arsenal and Liverpool fight for his signature.

Davies plays alongside Williams in defence for club and country, and while acknowledging the 28-year-old's value says he hopes Swansea can find a way to hold onto their skipper.

"A price of £10million for Ash is completely justified when you see some of the money being spent, especially on foreign players who are unproven in the Premier League," Davies is quotes as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"That would be a fair price but it would still be a massive loss for us. Last season he was one of the best centre-halves in the league, especially when you consider the team he is in and doesn't have the very best midfielders in front of him helping out.

"Ash has had a big influence on me," Davies confirmed. "He gave me a lot of confidence on the pitch and made the transition from Swansea to Wales very easy for me.

"If we do lose him to a bigger team then we will have to adapt pretty quickly. Hopefully our new signing [Amat] can be just as good, if not better."

This summer, Swansea have brought in Spain Under-21 international Jordi Amat from Espanyol to shore up their defensive stocks for next season.
