Swansea City have swooped for Real Betis midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo, with the Spaniard signing a three-year deal at Liberty Stadium.

Pozuelo, 21, is in good company in Wales, with six fellow Spaniards in the Swans squad including former Betis team-mate Jose Canas and Espanyol defender Jordi Amat - the club's other summer signings thus far.

The young midfielder was a free agent having seen his contract with Betis expire but he now joins up with last season's Capital One Cup winners and will head off with his new team-mates on a pre-season tour to the Netherlands.

"I am very happy to have joined Swansea City. Since I've been a little boy it has been my dream to play in the Premier League," Pozuelo told Swansea's official website.

"From the moment I heard of the interest from Swansea I have watched their games and followed the news at the club. The style of the team suits me, and so too does the style of the manager.

"Of course, there are a lot of Spanish players here including my old Betis team-mate Jose Canas, and that will help me to settle quickly. I am looking to improve my English immediately as I want to communicate better with my team-mates. On the pitch I just want to give everything I have to the club in order to help the team this season."

Swans boss Michael Laudrup, who previously coached in Spain with Getafe and Mallorca, has raided La Liga for a number of players since taking over at Liberty Stadium last summer, with former Rayo Vallecano forward Michu proving arguably the signing of the season in 2012-13.
