Yaya injury worry for City

Manchester City were handed an injury worry when Yaya Toure limped off in their first game under Manuel Pellegrini.

The midfielder hobbled off after 84 minutes in their 2-0 defeat to South African side Supersport United in Pretoria.

And the Ivory Coast international will be assessed to see when he can return to the City side.

The FA Cup finalists are next in action against AmaZulu FC in Durban on July 18 before going on to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy.

In all, Pellegrini used 23 players in the game against Supersport with Fernandinho making his City debut after his £30 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Youngster Devante Cole, son of former City and Manchester United forward Andy, also appeared as a replacement for Toure.

But there was no place for Maicon after manager Pellegrini said the Brazilian was not in his plans and will be allowed to leave the club.
