Aguero: We are all heroes at City

Sergio Aguero has shrugged off suggestions he was Manchester City's derby star by saying the substitutes were heroes as much as he was.

Aguero volleyed two goals in Sunday's 4-1 win against Manchester United to take his tally to five goals in six derbies.

But the striker is adamant it was a triumph for the whole team, rather than just him.

"All the team were brilliant. We're all one team," Aguero told Manchester City's official website. "There are no individual heroes, we are all heroes, even the players on the bench."

Aguero admitted the scoreline took him by surprise, adding: "We didn't expect it but we were really motivated and that led us to the victory.

"The most important thing is to give all you have. The confidence and the attitude the team had was very good and in the second half, despite winning 2-0, we kept playing like that."

Aguero's opener, following an Aleksandar Kolarov cross, brought particular praise and the former Atletico Madrid forward added: "It was a beautiful goal but the most important thing was the team won three points."
